Starting a New Way of Eating.

As of today, Hubby and I are starting on a no sugar, no pastas, no breads (or bread with low carbs) lots of veggies, lots of proteins and lots of chicken and eventually fruits. Sort of a modified Atkins diet if you will.

We have done this kind of diet change before with much success, but with the holidays and all we certainly slipped on the sugar aspect. We felt so much better when we were doing this diet change. My Mama even recently went to the doctor and he told her to do the same kind of diet. So stay tuned to find out how it goes. I would like to lose 30 pounds.

Well, it seems it's getting close to my 100th post and I think it's customary to do a give a way. If you have any suggestions on how to do one I would love to know. How do you keep up with every one's points or whatever? That's my biggest question.

Hi Renee!! Good for you and hubby! I actually need to start that same diet again too! I've had nothing but great results when I've eaten that way! You're right though..it's so easy to slip on special occasions! But, w/ you doing it w/ your hubby, it may be easier not to!! You'll have to keep us posted on how you do!!

As far as the giveaway, one way you can keep track is to write everyones name on a piece of paper, and then randomly pick out the winner! You can make it fun to have extra entries for us by following certain rules too! Like, being a follower, posting about your giveaway on your blog, etc! Those would count for extra points and extra entries!

Good luck! I've had some success with a similar diet. Now that I'm home for the summer and not right across the street from the gym, I'm considering going back to it!

How you do the points for a giveaway is totally your choice. If you want though, you can just say leave one comment, that's it to enter. You can either write all the entries on paper and draw from a hat (old school, which is how I do it) or use random.org or something like that. Hope that helps! :-)

Congrats on the decision to be healthier! I lost 25lbs a few years ago with the same diet. Too bad I gained it all back. UGH. Rooting for you both!!

that sounds like a great way to eat!! wishing you much luck with it. I think I'll need to think of something like that too to get rid of my pesky 30-35 pounds.

I've given away several things on my blog. I keep it really simple. Most of the time I don't give out extra entries if they post it on their journal or if they become a follower because (for me) I don't want it to be about numbers; that's not why I journal. So basically any comment left counted as an entry; one per person. I then did it the old fashion way and put everyone's name on a piece of paper in a bowl and had my husband pick out the winner. I would go over with him prior to that all my names to make sure I didn't miss anyone. There is a program, and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it, but it randomly selects the winner based on how many entries you have. good luck with it and just have fun; don't make it too stressful for you.

I, too, so need to change some eating habits. Good for you and hubby!

As for the giveaway, my advice is keep it simple. I've only done two but the second one I did was so complicated and it took me a long time to figure out the winner.

It's easiest if each comment is it's own entry. Then you just use random.org to pick a number and you've got a winner with in minutes. Congrats on almost 100 posts!

You must have some willpower, my friend. Good luck! As far as giveaways, however you have people enter to get chances, just be sure they leave a separate comment for each chance. That way you can use the random number generator and not have to write them all out by hand. :)

Good luck with that diet! Maybe for your giveaway you could send out all of your extra bread, sugar, carbs in general... like to me! :)
I think usually there is an extra entry for followers, and another one if someone blogs about it.
