Psalm 1 "Blessed is he who shall follow the Lord....."

This is one of my most favorite Psalms. When my Bobo (grandpa) passed away this was the scripture read at his funeral. I find myself singing this Psalm in my head quite often.

The more we are immersed in God's word the more it is alive within us. Lately I have been so busy, that I haven't been reading my Bible the way I should. And it is true, if we aren't dwelling in the Word, then we aren't as close to the Father as we are when we are in HIs Word daily.

I am so thankful that I have the tools of memory, to bring forth scripture, even when I am not reading the Bible. I find myself constantly reciting verses in my head or singing a hymn, or some little song I learned in Vacation Bible School. But nothing is a substitute for daily reading God's Word.

Dear God, Please forgive me for not being in Your Word daily. I ask that you will give me the thrist to go daily and drink from my Bible.

I ask these things in Your Son, Jesus name.
Amen

This is so true. I find myself going through my day and scripture will just pop into my head. Along with old hymns that I grew up singing. I love how the Lord ministers to us when we least expect it! THanks for the wonderful video!

That's so true!! How can we be walking in the Spirit if we're not filled with His word daily!! It's so easy to be in our flesh and not in the Word!!

I know that I need to be more diligent in this area too!!!

Such a good post! I think many of us struggle to stay disciplined in our Bible reading. If we could just remember that it is the living, breathing words of our Saviour!

Bless you for this sweet prayer and reminder...

Delighted to meet you! I found your site through God's Not Finished with me yet. Your post touched my heart and brought life to my day, especially since I was just sitting at my Gram's bedside as she danced into eternity. I'll be back, soon and often.

Blessings from this missionary mommy,
Sarah Dawn
