I wanted to write about something a little different today. Back in the day, I loved it, when I worked at the hospital, and we girls would all get together and discuss the latest beauty products, what hair styles we liked, maybe pour over catalogs to pick out a new swimsuit (I personally didn't like this one topic) LOL!!. But you get the picture. Girl talk, chit chat. Fun times (at least for me)
So let's chat for a bit, about beauty products. Come on in and get comfortable. Can I offer you a glass of tea? Maybe pop a bowl of popcorn? I feel a little snacky.
I'm not sure about you, but I've been trying to find little ways here and there to save money in this tough economy. Some of the ways I'm trying to save, is in my beauty products.
I used to spend x amount of dollars on a department store brand from the Mall, and then on a Pink brand that I bought from a wonderful lady that gave me an awesome facial in my home, and convinced me that I couldn't do without the wonderful Pink products. Ha!! She is probably driving a wonderful Pink Caddy right now.
But, while all these brands are certainly good, I got to thinking, why spend that money on those products, if I can find something that works for me just as well, but is considerably less expensive. I found a couple of neat products that I've found I like to use and they are available at Target, Wal-mart or K-mart. And they don't hurt the pocketbook one little bit.
I have large pores on my cheeks and nose, so I have always used a pore minimizer. I've spent about 14.00, for the mask product before, but I found this brand for 5.50 or less. It works just as well and minimizes my pores just fine.
I also use an exfoliator in the shower. I had been paying 24.00 for one at the Mall. I found this one for 5.49. I used it for the first time yesterday and I love it.
So if you are looking for some ways to save, and haven't tried these St. Ives products before, try'em. I like them, you might too. I hope this little change hasn't been to uninteresting. I've enjoyed chatting with you. I hope ya'll have a good night! If anyone else has any beauty tips, I am up to hearing them! "A penny saved is a penny earned" or something like that! Ha!
Jesus loves ya and I do too!!

I cant really comment on female products, but I just wanted you to know I was here!
Love and Prayers,
Tim
Hey there! Just dropped by to welcome you to SITS! I can't comment on the beauty products, because I am a soap and water kind of girl. Well, not actually soap. Just water, but just saying water would have lacked the cadence of 'soap and water'. *sigh*
You should check out www.luxetips.com. She loves department store brands, but has a weekly post called 'hot drugstore find of the week' where she tells you the best budget items.
Did I say welcome? Welcome!
St. Ives is good stuff! I'll have to try the firming mask because I have big pores too! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tip - I'm going to look for them on my next trip to Target...I'm always looking for a way to make those pores look smaller!
i love st. ives products!
I have never been one that was into makeup products, or even facial cleaners. I have always stuck to the basics, no name brands. However, I just splurged for makeup back in February. My friends daughter works at Bare Minerals in Nordstrom and I have been wanting to try it out for a long time. So, low and behold..I went, got a makeover, and left w/ some goodies! I'm loving it though. That would have to be my biggest splurge for makeup..EVER!
I love girl talk! Yea the ST. IVES products i have used have worked well. But then again, the brands they carry at Walgreens and Target etc are the only brands I have ever used except when my mom lets me use her clinique!
O a tip...straight witch hazel mimizes pores!
